Logistic Companies Make Shipping Overseas a Breeze

Logistics companies are very competitive, especially international ones. While many companies offer plenty of different services, others only offer basic or flat rate shipping options that might not meet your needs.  Your business has necessities, and you need to make sure that the logistics company that you choose fits those needs as closely as possible. Saving money is important, but having trust in your logistic company is paramount. It's why we practice open communication with all of our clients.

Part of the reason we make shipping overseas so much easier is because we listen to all of your instructions. For instance, we have the tools and the experience it takes to safely ship delicate products. There are no guarantees in the shipping industry, but taking the proper precautionary steps can greatly reduce the risks of products breaking during their travels.

We are able to handle almost all shipping needs. Once you contact us, our experts can explain the different options you have for your shipping requirements. We can explain the most cost-effective way to get your goods to your destination of choice.

When your items have arrived by boat, they need to be shipped to their final destination. Not all logistics companies offer the additional service of handling the product until it reaches its final destination; instead they leave it up to you to have someone pick it up at the port. These additional services usually save you a lot of money since our connections and resources will produce a cheaper shipping price.

Contact us today, and find out what separates us from other logistic companies and makes Cross Globe Group the best choice for all of your logistic needs.

Advantages of Using Third-Party Logistics

Good companies are always interested in ways to save some money because this ultimately increases their profitability in the long run. In the current economic scenario, companies are outsourcing whatever they can to third party providers because this not only saves them money, but also helps them in maintaining the quality of their products or services.

There are several benefits of using third party logistics for part of your supply chain management. We are listing below ways in which businesses can benefit from using the services of third party companies to handle all their logistics issues:

•Companies can be more competitive by switching to a third party logistics firm. The cost effectiveness is achieved due to the money companies save in the form of labor. By hiring a firm, companies do not have to hire employees specifically for this purpose. The cost of labor is too high, and by hiring a third party logistic company, you pay a lot less as labor cost.

•When you are using the services of a third party logistics company located in the city where you will send or store your products, you get the expertise of a company that has adequate knowledge of the area. Third party companies get much better rates for the storage of products as they know the entire area where to go. This means more savings for you.

•Third party logistics companies can customize their services according to your business needs. When you outsource your work to this company, it will go out of its way to please you and would try to meet all your requirements.

•As third party logistics providers can handle the entire supply chain right from the start to finish, they can save you lot of time. Aside from that, due to the sheer size of their operations, they can negotiate far less freight than you could ever achieve on your own.

•Third party logistics companies use custom software for tracking and routing all the business under their care. They hire top engineers and accountants for managing accounts.

President & CEO Bill Franks Receives Prestigious "Distinguished Service Award"

The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) recently presented CrossGlobe Group President and CEO Bill Franks with a prestigious award for his contributions to "protecting and encouraging" operations and opportunities at the Port of Hampton Roads, Virginia. The "Distinguished Service Award" is recognized as a Resolution of Appreciation from the VMA and was presented to him before 950 attendees at the VMA's 92nd Annual Maritime Banquet on May 3rd.

The VMA is an organization that promotes the interests of commercial shipping in and out of the Port of Hampton Roads, and our company has had a large presence there through the years facilitating our shipments and logistics operations.

As a company, we have seen the great leadership exhibited by Bill Franks overseeing our logistics management operations, but external recognition from industry-leading organizations is a special honor and testament to his dedication and the work of our company.

In specific terms, through the award, the VMA recognizes Franks as a leader in drayage, logistics, and warehousing who has successfully worked to promote the Port of Hampton Roads and Virginia's Maritime Industry both throughout the US and internationally. This work by Franks has resulted in many new developments for the port. As a result of his work, new cargoes, new jobs, and the development of new facilities have been enjoyed by the Port of Hampton Roads.

Further, the association acknowledges that Franks has extended a spirit of "cooperation and collaboration" that has contributed to positive growth for the Port of Hampton Roads positioning it well to be the most important port on the US East Coast.

We mention the company's DNA from time to time being that our character, ethics, honesty, and safety guide our practices. These fundamental values have been exhibited clearly by Franks in his work in Virginia and accompanying recognition thus exemplifying how these ideas are more than just words to us but guiding values that we consistently act on.

Logistics Companies Help You Streamline Operations

Logistics companies are the perfect tool for anybody who needs to find a way to move items from one place to another. Not only is it impossible to suddenly conjure a fleet of trucks out of thin air, but it is even harder to find companies that are capable of moving all the product you need to move in a timely manner. It requires a great deal of manpower, a load of trucks, and enough people to get your product rolling from one place to another without much hassle.

When hiring a logistics company to help with your freight and products, you'll want to see what kinds of options you have for different routes and drivers. Instead of working from a company's one location, you'll want to hire someone that will work from your many locations happily and effectively.

Another helpful thing about logistics companies is that they are able to use multiple forms of transportation to move your products from one place to another, depending on your specific needs. In some instances, you need a truck to move items across the country; in others, when time is not an issue, the company you hire can use a train or fly items on specially chartered planes.

Because they are tailoring their services to your needs, logistics companies will have very little problem getting your items wherever they need to go. Most of the time, you will probably be letting the logistics company you hire decide what to do and how to do it. Their expertise in the field will provide them with the knowledge to do the job more efficiently than you would be able to by yourself, allowing you to concentrate on your business.

Logistics companies do much more than move products--they solve problems. With the right choice of logistic company working on your behalf, your whole business will run more smoothly.

Owner Operator Trucking has Many Advantages

The desire to be your own boss exists in many truckers from the first day they climb into the cab. As their trucking career progresses, this desire is often diminished due to changes in the industry such as rising fuel prices, increasing regulations, negative attitudes from peers in the industry, and so on. The fact of the matter is that owner operator trucking can still be a successful path to pursue, and the benefits are well worth the effort.

With many successful owner operators, the key to combat the new challenges the industry is facing is to conduct business with common sense, minimal overhead, and partnership with a company that conducts their operations with honesty, integrity, low turnover ratios, and high ethical standards; the success of the owner operator is in direct correlation with the success of the company.

The benefits of owner operator trucking still outweigh the negative opinions of those who believe that taking this step is simply no longer worth the effort and risk. The top two rules of thumb when attempting to make a venture successful are to begin with the lowest overhead possible and to form a positive relationship with a reputable company.

Some of the top benefits include tax advantages, higher net incomes over the typical company driver, time off when it is wanted (not just when it's convenient for the company), the pride of business ownership, and that the majority of revenue earned goes into the owner operator's pocket. The tax advantages are dramatically increased and through deductibles and write-offs, annual tax liabilities are reduced below what is paid by the average company driver.

There is a sense of pride in many owner operators--the pride of being your own boss, making decisions for your own benefit, and the feeling of accomplishment many get by having their company name on the doors as they roll up and down the highway. With owner operator trucking, all of the advantages of owning a business can sit in the driver's seat.
